D. Answer the Following questions:-
Que-1 What are grasslands?
Ans-1 Area which have moderate to
low rainfall support vegetation in the form of grass and not trees is called
grasslands.
Que-2 Where are tropical grasslands found?
Ans-2 Tropical grass lands are
dominant in northern Africa. They are also found in the Brazilian Plateau and
Northern Australia.
Que-3 Why is commericla lumbering impossible in the tropical evergreen forest?
Ans-3 Commercial lumbering
impossible in the tropical evergreen forest because in this forest mixed
variety of hardwood and softwood trees are found on the plains while highlands
have softwood coniferous trees.
Ans-4 These forests are also
known as mansoon forests.These are generally found in the monsoon regions of
the world where rainfall is around 150cm and the range of temperature is around
20°-48°C. These forests are found widely spread over India.
The
trees are of medium height and shed their leaves in the dry season. There is a
dense undergrowth of bushes and shrubs. Some of the important trees are teak,
sal, sandalwood, shisham, bamboo, and eucalyptus.
Que-5 Explain in detail about the Mediterranean forests. Give example?
Ans-5 The Mediterranean type of
forests are mostly found along the west and the southwest margins of the
continents. The main area is around the Mediterranean sea in Europe, Africa and
Asia.DRAW A NATURAL VEGETATION CHART.
