Ans-5 Crude oil and petroleum is obtained by drilling holes called oil wells into the earth’s crust. The petroleum so obtained  is sent to an oil refinery for processing. Here, from crud Petroleum, Petrol, Kerosene, Diesel, Fuel oil and paraffin wax, etc are obtained.

Que-6 Non Renewable resources?
Ans-6 The sources of energy like coal and petroleum, which are exhaustible and cannot be renewed quickly, are called non renewable sources of energy.

Que-7 Alternate fuels?
Ans-7 The limited resources, higher prices nad also the polluting effects of these fuels have led to search for alternate fuels such as solar energy, wind energy and energy of flowing water.

Ans 2. One climber lay dying at the South Col. Another climber Mohan Singh would have died if Santosh had not shared her oxygen with him. She gave her oxygen to save him from a sure death.

Ans 3. Santosh returned from Mount Everest. While doing so, she collected garbage from the Himalayas. She then brought it down with her. It weighed 500 kilograms.
